The Church And Homelessness

Ten days ago, the weekly ‘Week Ahead’ email from the Methodist Media team recommended this video, made for last year’s World Homelessness Day:

What can Christians do in the name of Christ to serve and help the homeless? You may know of high profile Methodist work such as the Whitechapel Mission. Perhaps you have raised funds or donated goods to it, or to causes like it.

But what can local churches do when they put their heads together? Over a period of years, Chelmsford CHESS has grown from a simple project where churches provided their halls on a rota basis for the homeless in the winter to a full scale project that helps people back into normal life.

What can we do?
