John Murchison is writing on why families resist being missional. On the other hand, Hugh Halter and his family have put it into practice, as his brief and highly readable ebook ‘A Righteous Brood‘ demonstrates.

God’s Family On Mission

Trinity

It’s not just the Mission Of God (‘Missio Dei’, as we often hear) but the Mission Of The Trinity (‘Missio Trinitatis’). God isfamily, and Jesus in the Incarnation comes on family business. So too must we be God’s family on mission, not just individuals. That’s what Mike Breen says here. (One or two long words, but hopefully you get the gist.)

The Joy Of New Life In Christ

Here is a video of a German church practising believer’s baptism. I share this not to ask the Methodists (and others) who read this and follow infant baptism to deny their convictions, but rather to say this: look at the joy seen among the baptismal candidates here. May that remind us that the real reason we seek new members of our churches is for people to encounter Christ, not for us to continue the existence of religious clubs by finding more people to fill church jobs.
